Meet the Heart of Isla & Psalm

Justyna

Founder & CEO

Justyna is a New Jersey–licensed teacher with a background in high school science. Before becoming a mother, she spent years in the classroom watching education quietly drift in the wrong direction — more screens, less wonder… more data, less heart… more performance, less purpose.

Justyna carried those observations with her. But it wasn't until losing her dad suddenly, and then holding her daughter Isla in her arms, that everything truly came into focus.

Grief has a way of stripping away what doesn't matter.

The world tells us to chase more — more success, more things, more achievement. But that's not what lasts. What lasts is who we become. How we love. The faith we carry. The people we raise. And making our way to Heaven to be with Jesus and our loved ones.

And Justyna believes that starts in the way we educate our children.

What we teach them shapes what they value. And what they value shapes who they become.

Isla & Psalm was born from that place — a desire to raise her daughter knowing what truly matters, and to build a homeschool curriculum that forms the heart, not just the mind. One rooted in real-life skills, critical thinking, hands-on learning, and biblical truth.

Not just education for this life… but formation for eternity.

Because learning rooted in truth changes everything.

Ashlea

Curriculum Operations Director

Ashlea has spent the past decade serving students and families in a variety of educational settings, including public, private, and charter schools. Throughout her career, her passion has been helping children build strong literacy skills while recognizing and nurturing the unique gifts God has given each learner.

Today, Ashlea works primarily with homeschool families, providing reading support and educational guidance tailored to each child’s needs. As a Christian educator and future homeschooling parent, she believes education is about more than academic achievement—it is about cultivating wisdom, character, and a love of learning that honors God. Her goal is to partner with families to help students grow in confidence, develop strong foundational skills, and become lifelong learners equipped to fulfill the purposes God has for their lives.

Monique

Early Childhood Bible Curriculum Designer

Monique is going on her eighth year of teaching Bible to preschoolers ages 2-5 (ninth year teaching early childhood education in a Christian setting). Technically, she has a background in engineering - a degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering + worked a design job for 7 years… and then became a mom. The birth of her twins in 2014 changed the trajectory of her career. Monique’s heart wanted nothing more than to be with them. Raise them, teach them, nurture them - watch them wonder and grow.

However, teaching has been a ministry on Monique’s heart for as long as she can remember. In 2019, she had the blessing of joining the staff at her daughters’ preschool. After that first year of teaching, God confirmed: “This is what you were made for”. She fell in love with sharing the love of God with the tiny little hearts that were entrusted to her - both her own children and those littles in her classroom.

Over the last seven years, Monique had a front row seat to experiencing the awe and wonder of God through the eyes of His most precious creations. Every year, they push her to learn more, to go deeper, to wonder with them. This is the inspiration for the Isla & Psalm Bible Curriculum. It’s a culmination of the time she spent pouring into her own children + refining the lessons and curriculum she’s built in her classroom over the last 7 years. (Because when she couldn’t find one she absolutely loved, she created one.)

In a nutshell - Monique lives in Wylie, TX. Her and her husband have been married for 15 years. They have three incredible daughters - ages 11, 11, & 5. She is a lover of God (obvi), a musician, math & science are her jam, Christmas is her favorite holiday, coffee is her love language, creating charcuterie spreads is her creative outlet, and chocolate is the way to her heart. Monique’s favorite Bible story: Jesus heals the paralytic. She prays that her children (and yours!) both surround themselves with and are radically faithful friends that bring others to Jesus.

Meghan

Kindergarten Literacy Curriculum Developer

Meghan, author of The Keeper of Courage and Light, writes stories for families and young adults that stir wonder, adventure, and a deeper longing for truth. A homeschooling mom of two and graduate of Eastern Michigan University’s Creative Writing program, Meghan’s love of story is rooted in imagination, faith, and a belief that beauty and hope matter, especially in hard seasons. As a Stage IV Colon Cancer survivor of over three years, her writing is a calling to testimony, stringing words together in between lesson planning, prayer, and perpetually reheated cups of coffee.

When not writing or mom-ing, you’ll find Meghan creating homeschool curriculum for Isla & Psalm, worshipping in her church choir, bonding with her favorite horse, Wyatt, taking ballet class, or working slowly toward a black belt in taekwondo (despite the many protestations of her 41 year old bones).

Alley

Kindergarten Math Curriculum Developer

As a former public school teacher with 11 years of experience, Alley has dedicated her career to helping children learn, grow, and thrive in a variety of educational settings. Throughout those years, she developed a passion for creating meaningful learning experiences that meet children where they are while nurturing their unique strengths, abilities, and God-given gifts.

While Alley’s professional background provided her with a deep understanding of how children learn, becoming a wife and mother transformed her perspective on what truly matters in a child’s education. Through raising her daughter, Alley quickly realized that childhood is not something to be rushed. Rather than measuring success solely by academic achievements, she believes our greatest responsibility is to cultivate hearts that love God, seek wisdom, and develop the character needed to flourish throughout life.

The values and mission of Isla & Psalm deeply align with this conviction. Together, we are committed to preserving the wonder of childhood, strengthening family bonds, and building strong, faith-rooted foundations that extend far beyond academics. Our desire is to partner with families in fostering a culture of discipleship, cultivating wisdom, and equipping the next generation to stand firmly in their faith for years to come.
